An Interview with: Gabriel Castro, Rolatel Comercio De Rolamentos

Following the 20th BearingNet User Meeting in Berlin, Germany in October 2023, Gabriel Castro from Rolatel talks us through his first ever trip outside Brazil.

Rolatel has been a member of the BearingNet platform for over nine years, so we were keen to find out more about their experience at a User Meeting for the first time. Export/Import Manager, Gabriel Castro dived in at the deep end, attending the meeting on behalf of Rolatel, and taking the huge step to leave his home country Brazil for the very first time.

How was your first experience leaving Brazil and travelling overseas for an industry event?

Travelling internationally has always been a dream of mine. Realising this dream whilst working was extremely gratifying. My first experience of leaving Brazil for an industry event was incredibly enriching. It provided a unique opportunity to immerse myself in an international setting, learn about global industry practices, and connect with professionals from diverse backgrounds. The exposure to different cultures and perspectives was invaluable and broadened my understanding of the industry.

Why did you attend the Berlin User Meeting?

I participated in the Berlin User Meeting with the primary objective of networking and cultivating connections within the suppliers. It was integral to our strategy of enhancing competitiveness in the international market. Recognising the significance of staying informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and networking opportunities, we aimed to gain valuable insights, explore potential collaborations, and reinforce Rolatel’s position as a player in the market.

How was your first experience of the User Meeting?

My first experience at the User Meeting was incredibly positive and proved to be an invaluable learning opportunity. The event provided a dynamic setting for exchanging ideas, gaining insights into industry best practices, and fostering meaningful connections. It was a highly enriching experience that contributed significantly to my professional growth and understanding of the industry.

Can you tell me more about the new connections you made in the industry and finding new business at the meeting?

The User Meeting facilitated the establishment of valuable connections within the industry. I had the privilege of meeting professionals who shared similar interests and goals. Making solid connections, especially with businesses we are already working with, was a game-changer. Face-to-face interactions set the stage for better collaborations and opened new possibilities for doing business together.

How is BearingNet beneficial to you and how does it help Rolatel?

BearingNet has proven exceptionally advantageous for us. Beyond simplifying the process of discovering new suppliers, it has played a crucial role in fortifying our ties with existing partners. The meeting has been instrumental in deepening relationships with current suppliers. Additionally, it has been a key factor in broadening our network and forming meaningful partnerships with new suppliers, making a substantial contribution to the overall growth and progress of Rolatel.

Are you looking to attend the User Meetings in the future and if so, why?

Certainly, I am eager to participate in upcoming User Meetings. The event offers a unique environment for learning, networking, and staying abreast of industry developments. The connections forged during these meetings play a pivotal role in the growth and global visibility of Rolatel.
