Godiva Bearings has revealed a brand new state-of-the-art clean room for bearing products at their premises in Dudley.

The team at Godiva is always looking to expand the range of services offered to their trade customers. Recently, the company unveiled a brand new, purposebuilt clean room.

A bearing clean room is a controlled environment designed to minimise the presence of airborne particles, contaminants, and other pollutants. Maintaining a clean room is a complex process involving air filtration systems, controlled airflow, and strict protocols for personnel entering and working within the clean room.

Clean rooms are classified based on the level of cleanliness they can maintain, often measured by the number and size of particles per cubic metre. The classification standards are set by organisations like the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

The new Godiva facility has three zones; a changing area, a decontamination room and the main clean room. The clean room is used to inspect, cleanse, re-lubricate, re-life, bearings and associated parts within a filtered environment, along with being approved to apply a large range of coatings and lubricants by using their bespoke cabinet and tooling. This applies a solid film lubricant to bearings or linear surfaces.

Whilst the vast majority of products that are expected to pass through the facility are bearings, Godiva has not ruled out other products such as fasteners and high precision machined specials. The clean room has already had a wide range of bearings in various formats pass through. As well as providing bearings, Godiva also have over 100 different lubricants in stock including food grade, low out gassing, high temperature and corrosive resistant greases. They also allow the customer to free issue the lubricant of their choice to them.
