Albion Motion Company – Who Do You Think You Are!?

You’ve seen the AMC premises and stock, now meet the team behind the newest bearing company based in Worcestershire, England.

‘AMC’ has a wealth of experience and knowledge within their team. Every member of staff has industry experience from all aspects of the business, not just product based. Some of the team have been introduced below.

Lee Willitts (Founder)

A very familiar face from within the trade, Lee needs no introduction. Starting a company from scratch is not an unfamiliar experience, and one he has thoroughly enjoyed with his ventures past and present.

“Going back to basics and building up a stock profile, sourcing, purchasing, and receiving the shipments in was really exhilarating. It was great to see everything evolve, putting the stock away with my son, Jim, was a great experience, and a truly epic achievement.

“It’s brilliant to be involved in every aspect of the business, from talking to our customers in the sales office, purchasing domestically and internationally, to helping out in the stores. Everyone knows I am partial to dusting the shelves and sweeping the floor!”

Jim Willitts (Managing Director)

Talking of sweeping the floor, that is exactly where Jim started his career in the industry as a young boy helping out on Saturdays. Fast forward three decades and Jim is now Managing Director of AMC, overseeing the whole infrastructure of the business, supported by his dad, and all of the team.

“Starting the business from scratch was a huge challenge for us, but one we relished. There were so many different things to consider, and decisions to make.”

“From finding the perfect unit to be the home of AMC, not as easy as we thought it would be but worth waiting for, to selecting the best sales operating system and uploading all of the data, a huge job that I couldn’t have done without the support of Jo and Harry. One of the highlights was travelling to China to meet our suppliers and visit each factory to ensure that we had the best quality product for our own brand, AMC.

“That brings me back to our first major decision: what were we going to be called?

“Albion Motion Company Limited was chosen, as ‘Albion’ is the old term for England, but it was also a great coincidence that we are all huge West Bromwich Albion fans. Let’s hope that both rise to the top of the league!”

Harry Roberts (Ecommerce Manager)

Although our team has a wealth of industry experience, it would be fair to say that Information Technology (IT) is not many of the team’s strong points! Harry has been instrumental in all things technical that help us perform our jobs and provide support on a daily basis.

“As the Ecommerce Manager at AMC, I’ve had the fantastic opportunity to lead the development and growth of our online web shop from the ground up. My role has extended beyond e-commerce, playing a key part in implementing and optimising our internal computer systems.

“I’ve also been heavily involved in setting up and training users on the OGL software, helping streamline operations across the business. It’s been a hands-on, rewarding journey supporting AMC’s digital transformation and continuous growth.”

Robert Smith (Logistics Director)

Known affectionately as ‘Rolling the oracle’, there is nothing that Rob can’t turn his hand to, or a fact that he doesn’t know! He is a tenacious problem solver, with attention to detail and such a considerate nature.

“I am a man of few words but I would say that working with the team every day is a real pleasure. We all pull together when we are faced with challenges (never problems), and that makes coming to work a fulfilling experience. I have enjoyed the autonomy of decision making to create a store that is efficient and functional. I look forward to our continued expansion and evolving our space to accommodate the growth.”
