Fersa to Showcase Efficiency and Electrification Innovations Across Europe

At leading European trade shows this September, Fersa will present innovative product developments across its specialised brands for automotive, heavy-duty, and industrial applications.

As the industry prepares for the post-summer trade fair season, Fersa is getting ready for a busy September with a clear focus: showcasing how its specialised brands are developing bearing solutions around two of the sector’s most important innovation drivers: efficiency and electrification. Throughout the month, Fersa will take part in Automechanika Frankfurt, IAA Transportation in Hannover and InnoTrans in Berlin, presenting product developments from Fersa Heavy-Duty, PFI Fersa Automotive and NKE Fersa Industry. Together, these brands reflect Fersa’s ability to support different markets with solutions adapted to automotive aftermarket, heavy-duty transport, and railway applications.

Efficiency has become one of the main priorities for vehicle manufacturers, operators, and distributors. Reducing consumption, improving total cost of ownership, and supporting lower cost per kilometre are now key requirements across mobility and transport.

In this context, Fersa Heavy-Duty will highlight its second generation of Fuel Efficient wheel end hub assemblies, one of the main product developments to be presented this September. While the first generation was designed in 2024 to meet European regulatory standards, this new generation goes further, responding to the more ambitious efficiency targets now being set by leading European manufacturers.

The Gen 2 development builds on product benchmarking and customer feedback, with improvements focused on reducing torque losses through optimised grease quantity, tighter internal geometries, and advanced sealing solutions. The result supports greater efficiency without compromising the reliability required in heavy-duty applications.

Electrification is another major driver shaping the future of automotive, transport and railway applications. As vehicle architectures evolve, bearing solutions must respond to new operating conditions, including higher speeds, electrical currents, temperature variation and demanding maintenance expectations.

PFI Fersa Automotive will bring this innovation line to the automotive aftermarket with its repair kits for electric vehicles’ drive units. Designed as a high-quality alternative to OEMonly replacements, these kits help extend the service life of battery electric vehicle drivetrains while reducing repair complexity and maintenance costs.

The solution includes advanced hybrid ceramic and insulated bearings, developed to reduce friction, enhance durability, and protect against electrical discharge in electric motors and drive units. PFI Fersa Automotive will also showcase its ranges of wheel knuckle modules and wheel end hub units, alongside other solutions for today’s evolving vehicle sector.

NKE Fersa Industry will bring this electrification focus into the railway sector, presenting bearing solutions for traction motor applications. Its portfolio includes electrically insulated bearings, designed to protect traction motors against current-induced damage, and hybrid bearings with ceramic rolling elements, developed for applications where electrical resistance, reliability and long service life are essential.

Beyond efficiency and electrification, reliability remains a central requirement across all the markets served by Fersa.

Whether in commercial vehicles, electric vehicles, or railway systems, bearing solutions must perform under demanding load, speed, shock, and vibration conditions.

For heavy-duty applications, Fersa Heavy-Duty will present solutions such as the CLAC P pneumatic clutch actuator and its clutch kits, developed to support vehicle reliability and performance in demanding operating environments.

For railway applications, NKE Fersa Industry will showcase its expertise in traction gearboxes, including special gearbox bearing solutions developed for various demanding conditions. These technologies support key rail applications such as high-speed trains, electric multiple units, trams, and underground trains; where reliability, long service life and reduced maintenance requirements are essential.

Fersa will present these developments across three major European trade shows during September:

• Automechanika Frankfurt: From September 8–12 | Hall 3.0, Stand C30 With Fersa Heavy-Duty and PFI Fersa Automotive.

• IAA Transportation: From September 15–20 | Hall 12, Stand E48 With Fersa Heavy-Duty.

• InnoTrans: From September 22–25 | Hall 8.2, Stand 230 With NKE Fersa Industry.

September will bring together three major events across three strategic sectors. From automotive aftermarket to heavy-duty transport and railway technology, these fairs will provide valuable opportunities to meet customers, present new developments and explore future collaborations.

Whether in Frankfurt, Hannover or Berlin, September will be the perfect moment to connect with Fersa and discover what is coming next across its specialised brands.
