Inside BearingNet: Meet the Team Making it Happen

With continuous growth and big plans, it’s an exciting time to be part of BearingNet.

From idea to global platform

BearingNet has grown a lot since first opening in 1996. Founded by Peter Annis and Gary Jenkins, what started as an idea of a magazine quickly transitioned into an online platform. Originally distributed on floppy disks, the BearingNet platform has grown in-line with new technologies to become a globally recognised tool for the bearing and power transmission industry.

Today, BearingNet connects over 2,000 distributors and manufacturers around the world, enabling them to connect, network and share their stock.

Connecting with members in person

Alongside the main platform, BearingNet brings its members together in person through exclusive B2B networking events, known as User Meetings. These events are held around the world throughout the year to provide as many opportunities as possible for members to attend.

Reaching 24 User Meetings in 2026, the events are only getting bigger and better! The team is currently organising the first-ever South American User Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for this October and the next European meeting in Salou, Spain, in June 2027. They hope to see as many members there as possible.

The people behind the scenes

Behind the BearingNet platform and User Meetings is a friendly team working across several departments, keeping everything running smoothly.

Starting with the Managing Director, Nicola Beer, who is at the forefront of building relationships with the members, particularly at the User Meetings. Nicola began her BearingNet journey in 2007 as a university placement student and returned after finishing her degree in 2009! 19 years later, Nicola is now the Managing Director. Along then came the Commercial Director, Chris Howard, who also completed a placement at BearingNet and returned in 2015 with extensive industry experience. They have seen the company grow from strength to strength and are a driving force for innovative ideas to continue the company’s growth.

The Sales and Customer Support team are the gears within the company, keeping the fresh leads flowing in, introducing new companies to the platform and ensuring members get the most out of the platform. With consistent support and guidance, the team is always on hand to deal with any queries or issues.

To consistently keep the platform refreshed, the technical team is always efficiently updating programs and functions to ensure it meets the needs of such a large, growing global audience. New updates ensure that the members are receiving a well-rounded experience on the platform. They have been instrumental in keeping many companies on the site for 30 years!

Building the brand and story behind BearingNet is where the marketing team comes into it. They are involved in promoting the platform itself, designing BearingNet’s very own industry magazine, Best Bits, growing the User Meeting audience and supporting members through consistent communications.

The teams combined create the strong foundation that BearingNet is so proudly known for.

Coming up for 2026

Another year, another opportunity for growth. With a strong history and growing global presence in the industry, being a part of BearingNet is an exciting place to be. This year will be about maintaining and growing relationships with members and spreading the BearingNet message wider than ever!
