Founded in 1999 by Dr. Antonio Izzo, IZZO has reached an extraordinary milestone: 25 years as a leading player in the industrial supply chain. Born from a consolidated experience in the distribution sector, the company reflects the entrepreneurial vision and values passed down by Antonio’s father, Avv. Giustino Izzo, who dedicated over 50 years to the sector.
Headquartered in Casoria, in the industrial area of Naples, IZZO began its journey as a spin-off with only 30 local customers. Today the company serves over 3,000 resellers worldwide, managing a portfolio of over 30,000 products. Over 70% of its business is dedicated to exports, thanks to valuable collaborations, such as the one with Nadella since 2005 and BearingNet since 2002, which have contributed to the international growth of the company. Recently, commercial agreements with Timken, NTN-SNR and Faro Bearings have allowed them to expand the range of products and consolidate their reputation.
With Nadella, a leader in the production of needle bearings and linear systems, in 2005 they entered into a real partnership with the idea of being the main interlocutor and often the only one for some categories of bearings for which they only have dedicated stock.
Thus, IZZO became the largest distributor of Nadella bearings in the world, choosing to fully commit to a niche market. The idea was that, if they had supplied the entire range of a brand from stock, they could differentiate offers from the others. To achieve this ambitious goal, they partnered with the now Nadella-Rollon group, and continue to invest in the warehouse to cover the entire range of their products. This means managing 20,500 items of a single niche brand, with the important consideration, in terms of costs, that almost 80% of them are slow-moving items. This means that investments in warehouse represent 90% of the total activities.
The four drivers of IZZO’s commercial strategy have been: quality, warehouse, speed and internationalisation.
Today, after 25 years, a new multi- brand approach is still going in the same direction, that of building strong partnerships with bearing manufacturers less represented on the market and with more potential.
