Based in North Carolina, USA, Ramsey Products Corporation has specialised in silent chain and silent chain drive systems for more than 100 years.
Having been a Manufacturers’ Advertising Platform member since early 2022, Ramsey Products is a well-established name within the online BearingNet community. The US-based chain specialist has attended a number of User Meetings in Europe in previous years, standing out as part of the Manufacturers’ Showcase in Berlin in 2023, Vienna in 2024, and Warsaw in 2026. On all three occasions, more than 500 members from the BearingNet community were in attendance.
Ramsey Products was established in 1923, at a time when industrial chain production was far more labour-intensive than it is today. Although steel chains and early silent-chain designs were already being used throughout industry, manufacturing depended heavily on mechanically operated machinery, skilled operators and hands-on inspection.
Fast-forward more than a century and the manufacturing landscape is almost unrecognisable. Major advances in production technology, metallurgy, heat treatment and quality control have transformed the strength, precision and reliability that modern chains can achieve.
Today, Ramsey specialises in high-performance silent chains and sprockets for conveying and power-transmission applications. Material quality is fundamental to their performance. They use carefully selected carbon, alloy and stainless steels, combined with controlled hardening, quenching and tempering processes. This helps create components that balance surface hardness and wear resistance with the toughness needed to withstand high loads, shock and demanding operating conditions.
