Arvis, the Leicester-based bearing housing manufacturers have a lot to shout about when it comes to their history and experience. Designing to specific requirements, many customers seek out Arvis for custom bearing housing projects, where their in-house team creates completely tailored and unique products. This was the case for both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic games, when a specific bearing unit was needed for the slalom canoe events.
A specific design was needed to fit the unique environment of a slalom canoe event. Arvis designed and supplied stainless steel self-aligning plain bearing units, purposely built to operate in damp and wet environments. The units were used as part of the lift conveyor system during the slalom canoe events, helping to assist athletes with the transportation of their vessels to the starting position.

Arvis is proud to have assisted athletes in a major global sporting competition, with their bespoke bearing housings being used in a historic event.
The 2016 Summer Olympics officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad and commonly known as Rio 2016 was a major international multi-sport event held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 August to 21 August 2016.
